Synopsis

The untold stories of the trailblazing women who formed Brazil’s first national women’s soccer team. Set against the backdrop of a nation where women were legally barred from playing soccer until 1979, the film chronicles the lives of these pioneers who represented Brazil in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite traveling the world and playing with national pride, their efforts brought little reward or public recognition.

Now in their 60s, these former athletes live in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro and rely on jobs such as street vending, Uber driving, construction work, and coaching soccer in community programs to make ends meet. Through heartfelt moments, viewers witness their camaraderie as they gather to play soccer, coach youth teams, or watch Brazil’s matches on television.

By weaving together personal stories and historical context, the film is a poignant tribute to their strength and unity, challenging the erasure of their contributions in a country synonymous with football excellence.
