The Intronauta

(El intronauta)
Jose Arboleda | Animation

2020 | 16 minutes | Colombia

In a media-soaked world, EL finds solace in drawing. His city-born plant is erased by societal norms, prompting his transformation into El Intronauta.

Synopsis

In a world inundated with media information, EL finds solace in a fantastical realm through his drawing prowess. A plant emerges from his sketches within the city's crevices, only to be eradicated by societal norms, compelling him to transform into El Intronauta, an inner space navigator.

El Intronauta features a compelling blend of stop motion and 2D animation, incorporating ingenious ideas like hyper-realistic drawings morphing into three-dimensional objects, providing an escape from reality. Its paper and cardboard universe exudes a charm reminiscent of Michel Gondry's filmmaking.

A solid recommendation for those who appreciate the alternative and less industrial aspects of animation.
