Left Entranced
Renato Tapajos | Documentary
2018 | 78 minutes | Brazil
A cinematographic opera, a musical version of the events that shook Brazil and the political left in 2016.
Synopsis
After fourteen years of ruling the country, the largest left-wing Brazilian party was ousted from power in 2016, in an impeachment process considered by many to be a "white coup." The process hit the parties and social movements of the left and put them in the firing line of conservatism. And now? How will these groups be placed from this moment on? What are intellectuals and artists thinking and writing? Left Entranced is a cinematographic opera, a musical version of the events that shook the country and the left in 2016.
