(GIN)
Puy Navarro | Drama, Fiction
2023 | 15 minutes | United States, Spain
Gin explores self-determination and bodily autonomy through Ginebra, a pregnant 15-year-old, and her strained relationship with her absent mother.
Synopsis
Exploring the complex themes of personal self-determination and bodily autonomy, “Gin” focuses on the struggles of a 15-year-old girl, Ginebra, who becomes pregnant and attempts to self-induce an abortion.
At the heart of the story is the relationship between Ginebra and her mother, Shell, who works tirelessly to provide for her children but is often absent from their emotional lives. While Shell ensures they lack nothing materially, her absence creates a distance between her and her children, especially Ginebra.
