Miguel Ángel Jiménez | Documentary

2018 | 95 minutes | Spain

The gastronomic universe of the Alicante hinterland as seen by double-Michelin-star chef Kiko Moya and his family, always offering their best.

Synopsis

Luis Moya, screenwriter for television shows such as Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), returns to Alicante to help his brother Kiko and his cousin Alberto to write a book about the cuisine of their family restaurant: L´Escaleta, which has just received two Michelin stars and is ranked among Spain and Portugal's 25 best restaurants.

Together, they begin a culinary and emotional trip that lasts a year, while the dream of writing the book turns into reality. This quest helps Luis reunite with his people while introducing us to the authentic life that lies behind a two Michelin star restaurant managed a devoted family, always passionate about their work and determined to offer people the best of themselves.
