Synopsis

The Gauchos del Mar brothers embark on an expedition through one of the southernmost territories on Earth: Staten Island (Isla de los Estados) in Argentina. Along the way, they share experiences with native communities on both sides of the Andes, learning about their traditional livelihoods, encountering the region’s wildlife, and enduring extreme weather conditions as they make their way to Ushuaia.

From there, the brothers board a sailboat to navigate the Beagle Channel and cross the Le Maire Strait—one of the world’s most dangerous waters, notorious for shipwrecks—to reach the island’s uninhabited and remote shores. Through adventure and encounter, the film reveals a profound connection between people, nature, and the limits of human resilience.
